Your pole barn kit is being prepared and delivered; it’s the perfect time to ensure your construction site is ready. Start by clearing the area to provide adequate space for your pole barn and to prepare the ground properly.
We recommend measuring the site and using stakes to mark the boundaries where you intend to build your pole barn. If there is vegetation in the area, remove it. For anything larger than a bush, make sure to eliminate it completely, roots and all, to avoid long-term issues, especially if you plan to pour a concrete floor.
Aside from clearing the site, you’ll need to ensure that it is properly graded. Most property owners choose a level site, but if your area isn’t level, it can be beneficial to hire a professional to address any grading issues before your kit arrives. We suggest aiming for a grade within six inches of being level; the closer to the level, the easier the building process will be.
